Background

Beth's interest in working with people began with her local Church, where she led small groups and taught classes on dealing with the issues of relationship boundaries and self-defeating thoughts. She earned her Master’s degree from Indiana University. She has experience working in both a residential facility and an outpatient clinic where she focused on reunifying family members utilizing several therapeutic strategies.

Therapeutic Approach/Specialties

She provides the needed skills for her clients to build healthy relationships. She works with individuals, couples, and families to establish effective communication. She enjoys helping families create harmony within their family systems. Some areas of experience include treatment of depression, anxiety (including the use of creative imagery exercises), grief and loss, PTSD, trauma, and helping individuals build a step- by-step plan to enhance performance in daily functioning.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Beth has also earned a specialization in EMDR, a unique treatment for trauma. EMDR integrates elements of effective psychodynamic, imaginal exposure, cognitive therapy, interpersonal, experiential, physiological and somatic therapies.
